Abstract
L’articolo presenta un’analisi dello stile e del lessico del primo volgarizzamento dell’Agamemnon di Seneca. Esso fu prodotto nei primi decenni del Quattrocento da un autore anonimo, che tradusse in prosa le dieci tragedie all’epoca attribuite al tragediografo latino. Il volgarizzamento interpreta la trama tragica in ottica cristiana, basandosi sul commento di Nicola Trevet.
The article offers an analysis of the style and the vocabulary of the first vernacular translation of Seneca’s Agamemnon. It was written in the early decades of the 15th century by an anonymous author, who translated into prose the ten tragedies that at that time were attributed to Seneca. The vernacular translation interprets the tragic plot in a Christian perspective, relying on the commentary by Nicholas Trevet.
