Abstract
Edoardo Sanguineti plays not only the role of poet, narrator and critic but also that of translator, especially of classical texts. Since 1968, in fact, on commission, he approaches the Greek and Latin tragedies. The 1979, however, is a unicum: Sanguineti puts hands to La festa delle donne by Aristofane, a comic text. This work therefore aims to analyse the rendering of the comic translation by Sanguineti, to bridge the gap between antiquity and classicism, and above all to show how the poet hides behind the translator, or rather shows himself. Thus Sanguineti plays with Aristotelian vocabulary, forces the order of words to give light to his literature, completely contemporary.
