Abstract

Il tempo materiale, primo e unico romanzo di Giorgio Vasta, permette di indagare sia il lassismo civile italiano che la condizione universale dell’umano, chiamato ad affrontare l’ingovernabilità della materia attraverso la capacità mitopoietica del linguaggio. L’arrovellamento su questi e altri temi, in primis l’amore, concorre al sofferto raggiungimento di una conoscenza capace di ridare storicità al soggetto, rendendolo parte integrante della comunità umana a cui appartiene.

Time on my hands, Giorgio Vasta’s first and only novel, allows us to investigate both the Italian civil laxity and the universal condition of the human, called to face the ungovernability of matter through the mythopoetic capacity of language. The intrigue on these and other themes, primarily love, contributes to achieving a knowledge capable of restoring historicity to the subject, making them an integral part of the human community to which they belong.
