Abstract
The paper investigates the relationship between pudicitia and forma in the case of Lucrezia Romana. The duality is neglected in its subsequent reception; it’s resumed in the oratio ficta of the Virgilio Malvezzi’s Tarquinio Superbo. His analysis on the subject riveals the total split between external and inner beauty that had characterized the classic story of the myth. Lucrezia, therefore, becomes a new starting point for ethical-moral reflections on the modern context of the author.
